What is a Chakra?

Have you heard the term "chakra" or "energy center" and wonder what that meant? I have. I have also learned that these energy centers inside our body, can connect us to our higher self, loved ones in spirit, our spirit guides, animals, plants, our own internal radar AND so much more!

Learning the foundation of these energy centers is the very first step to connection. These little balls or discs that reside along our nervous system are basically untapped wells of information that most of us don't know about or how to tap into them. Each one is represented by its own color, it's own part of the body, is connected to certain organs and is represented by specific earthly elements.

So let's look a bit closer...

I am going to define a chakra, go through the seven main ones, and their associated elements.

What Is A Chakra?

Chakras are energy centers of the body that correspond to the seven points along our nervous system. When they are open, vital life force energy (Universal Energy, God's Energy...etc.) runs through and between them freely uniting our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies.

Each chakra is represented as a disc or a ball with an associated color. I’m going to briefly cover the main seven chakras below learning the seven most common chakras from the ground up.

While you read through the following, see if you can focus your attention on that specific area of your body and feel the specific chakra. Can you feel anything? What does it feel like to you?
